1) Matilda had requested Ko Kwai's name to be announced at a mass for the repose of her soul at Saviour of the World Church, 30 Bristol Road, Mississauga on Oct 31 at 7 p.m.
2) Lucille had requested a mass in memory of Ko Kwai. It was held on Nov 18, 2009 at 9 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Passionist Parish, located at 670 Sheppard Avenue East (north side of Sheppard at Greenbriar Avenue), just east of Bayview Village. The mass was open to the general congregation with special intention of praying for the repose of the soul of Ko Kwai.
3) Ko Kwai's family held a Memorial Service for her on Friday, Nov 27, at 10 a.m. It was at St. Gabriel's Passionist Parish at 670 Sheppard Avenue East. Ko Kwai's family had arranged 解穢酒 at around 1 p.m., at the Legend Chinese Restaurant (7289 Yonge Street at Glen Cameron).
4) Elsie had arranged a memorial service/mass for Ko Kwai on Saturday Jan 30, 2010, 4:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church - 21 Simonston Bl.. Thornhill, Ontario, Canada (one block north of Steeles, on the west side of Don Mills Road). This was a Saturday evening mass attended by the general congregation, but with special intentions for Ko Kwai. Dinner was held after the mass at Asian Legend at 505, Highway 7, Unit 77, Commerce Gate Plaza (South west corner of Leslie and Highway 7), at 6 p.m.
Our classmates had also suggested making a donation as a group to Ko Kwai’s church, St.Timothy's Catholic Church, located at 21 Leith Hill Road, North York, Ontario, M2J 1Y9.
Tessie had collected the donation money on Jan 30, 2010 after the memorial service/mass and sent to the church. For those who do not reside in Canada and still wish to make a donation, please send the cheque directly to the church, address was listed above.

The Ko Kwai Fun Memorial Fund
The Ko Kwai Fun Memorial Fund (the KKF Fund) is established in loving memory of a dear friend, Ko Kwai Fun (高桂芬).
Kwai Fun attended Belilios Public School (BPS) from Form 1 through Upper Six (1957-64). In 1967 she graduated with honors from Hong Kong University (HKU), where she later obtained a Master Degree in History. She taught for almost twenty years at St. Paul’s College in Hong Kong, becoming head of its History Department. In January 1989 she emigrated to Canada to take care of her ailing mother in Toronto. There she continued her life-long passion for history and Chinese culture, dedicating her time to various projects in teaching and cultural exhibitions. She remained active in the alumni associations of BPS and HKU throughout the years. In October 2009 Kwai Fun died of pneumonia during a visit to Washington, D.C.
Kwai Fun’s sudden and untimely death is deeply mourned by her many friends in various places around the world. She is remembered not only for her overall academic excellence and her beautiful calligraphy, but also for her noble character. Friends unanimously recall her gentle demeanor, her unassuming and self-effacing humility, her sincerity and compassion for others, her unfailing warmth and support, and her selfless dedication to worthy causes. The KKF Fund is a tribute to Kwai Fun’s inspiring qualities, embodying the collective remembrances of her friends.
The KKF Fund consists of contributions from Kwai Fun’s friends. It will be managed by Kwai Fun’s alma mater, BPS, and will be used to promote and support student activities that reflect Kwai Fun’s character and interest.
The KKF Fund will be appropriated as follows:
(1) Up to 50 percent* of the KKF Fund will be reserved for annual awards to Form Six students with best results in the subjects of History and Chinese History;
(2) The remaining portion of the KKF Fund may be used for:
(a) awards to students for outstanding community service;
(b) leadership training for students;
(c) emergency relief for students in need; and
(d) other activities to be determined.
Specific guidelines for the use of the KKF Fund will be agreed with BPS when the total amount of contributions is known.
The following persons have volunteered to collect contributions to the KKF Fund: Ms. Wong Pik Chong (Mrs. Agnes Chan) for donations in US dollars; Ms. Chen Leung Bing (Mrs. Carol Lee) and Ms. Tessie Leung for donations in Canadian dollars; and Ms. Pun Shing Fan for donations in Hong Kong dollars. They will be sending out separate emails providing information on where to send donations. Donation checks in HK$ may also be sent directly to BPS, and overseas donations in any other currency may be sent through wire transfer or Internet banking to the BPS bank account. Details will be included in the emails being sent out.
All donations collected will be accounted for in the total contributions to the KKF Fund. An appreciation letter from the principal of BPS, together with a list of donors, will be sent (by email, or by post if a mailing address is provided) to all those who have contributed to the KKF Fund. BPS will make available to all donors annual reports on the current status of the KKF Fund and related activities.
